GENEALOGY

If you are searching for family roots, this is a good place to start. We have city and county cemetery records, funeral home records, marriage records, plat books and Fairbury newspapers on microfilm from the 1800’s up to 1999. We have the hard copy of the Fairbury Journal News for the last 10 years. There are also scattered newspapers on film for Daykin, Diller, Jansen, Plymouth and Steele City. Also available are Nebraska Census Records from 1860-1930.

We have Jefferson County school histories and high school yearbooks for Fairbury, Endicott and Steele City; and the yearbooks for Fairbury Junior College. There is also quite a bit of history on the Endicott and Steele City area.

In addition, several local residents have compiled their family histories and donated them to the library.
If you are interested in local or family history, have questions, or just want to browse, please join us at the public library.
